History teaches nothing. Oblivious to its lessons, we are moving through the same nightmares again and again: year by year, century by century, millennium by millennium. Conveniently, we pretend that the horrors surrounding us are only a momentary aberration. As if they always happen to others and in the end, we will surely be alright. There is no hope as long as we keep forgetting how easily we entered into violence: became cruel, intolerant and self-righteous. Killing lies deep within our nature and we should never forget about it. Peter A.
